Tidal Wave Mountain

For weeks, all Colin could talk about was riding Splash Mountain with my dad. Finally the day arrived, and Colin wasn't as excited as we had hoped. (I think he was just too tired.) Another part of the problem was they have done something to the ride now, and you not only get a little wet, you get completely drenched. I am not kidding, people were coming off that ride soaked from head to toe. It was early in the day and we had just gotten a little wet on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, so we decided it was the best time to go on Splash Mountain. Being the wonderful Papa that he is, my dad bought Colin a poncho so he wouldn't get wet. Once we got through the line and got his poncho on, Colin was ok. That is until he sat in the boat and got wet, just sitting there. (There were probably 2 inches of water in the bottom of the boat.) We calmed him down and the ride started. Colin was actually enjoying looking at everything. When it came time to go down the first hill, Colin was smiling, that is till the first tidal wave of water came into the boat. The girls that were sitting in front got a face full of water. The rest of us got really wet shoes. Throughout the ride, Colin would get splashed and cry a little bit since he didn't like being hit by all that water. Lucky for him his clothes weren't actually wet, unlike the rest of us. When it came time to go down the big hill, Colin was really nervous, all because he knew he was going to get wet, not because of the drop.

We plunged down the hill, and when we got to the bottom, a big wave of water landed on Colin, which made him cry.

But as you can see, we are all fairly dry compared to the girls in front of us. Once Colin realized he wouldn't be getting wet anymore, he was laughing and singing. Once we met back up with my mom, Colin had a smile on his face.

Although Colin didn't want to ride Splash Mountain again during our trip, he did say he couldn't wait for Papa to come to Minnesota to ride the log flume at the MOA, since you do not get as wet!
