Spring Training

We got together with our friends today for a Memorial Day barbeque. We had to make an emergency stop at Wal-Mart to get two more baseball mitts so that everyone could have one. We are really glad we got them, because at the park, all the kids wanted to do was throw around a baseball with their dad.

Everything was going really well until Brett beaned Ian right in the nose.

Good thing it was one of those newer, softer, balls. Also, it was good that Ian had some sunglasses on to take some of the blow. Poor kid! I have to say, we were really proud of Ian, because when Brett asked him if he wanted to keep playing, he said, "Yes." He is the type of kid that always jumps back on the horse.

After the ball-to-the-face debacle, the boys decided to double team their dad.

Three hours later, when we had eaten as much as we could possibly eat and played baseball as much as we could, it was time to go home. The whole way home, Ian talked about playing catch. Brett and I were surprised that Ian didn't ask if he could sleep with his mitt. I guess we know what we will be doing this summer!

Note that we all had matching uniforms. Necia called us the Blue Man Group. Good thing there were no blue noses.
