I Will Sing for Crackers
On Sunday our ward held their Primary program. Colin was really excited to participate, until we got to Church. Once we got there he no longer wanted to sit on the stand, he wanted to stay with me. His reason being if he stayed with me he could eat animal crackers, and if he sat with his teacher he could not. I let him scarf as many animal crackers as he could before he absolutely had to take his seat, and hoped for the best. Colin did really good for the first half of the program (behavior wise, he refused to sing), but quickly ended up back down with me begging for more animal crackers. I promised him I would save the crackers for him until he was done, and he agreed to go back up to the stand. Instead of going back to sit with his teacher he went and found Brett (who is now a primary teacher) and sat on his lap. Colin continued to pout for the animal crackers, but Brett was able to keep him on the stand. When it was time for Colin's class to do their part, (of course they were the second to last group), Colin was more then ready to be done. He said his group part and then waited in line to do his individual part. When he got up to the microphone he took a second to look out at everyone. The Primary President took his pause to mean he had forgotten his part, and started to tell him what it was. Colin turned around, told her that he did not need any help (loud enough for the entire congregation to hear), and proceeded to say his part. Colin returned to his seat with a giant smile on his face. As soon as they were done with the program Colin ran down to me and demanded his animal crackers. He wouldn't even let me tell him what a great job he had done before I handed the crackers over. This kid has a one track mind!
